Road racers spotted heading west near H-1 Kunia exit
Advertiser Staff
Police are keeping a watchful eye on about 30 modified import cars — mostly Hondas and Acuras — which were last seen heading west on the H-1 Freeway near the Kunia exit about 12:50 a.m.
Callers told police three of the cars slowed down in each of the three lanes they were in so members of the pack in front of them could begin a road race.
Roving packs of the cars are commonplace on the weekend throughout O'ahu, police said.
The appearance of a marked police car is usually enough to bring the racing to a halt.
