BIG mahalo to everyone in the community.

The surgery for little Axl James Deacon is scheduled for June the 14 in Dallas at the Dallas Pediatric Center. There were some misconceptions from the only local doctor who performs this procedure here, but is not an expert in the disease. Here in Hawaii it would be covered by medical insurance but Axl would have to endure 3 surgeries and the removal of skull material in place of a metal plate and screws and months in the hospital. In Texas with Dr. Fearon who performs more of these Cranialsynostisis procedures has pioneered a new technique requiring one surgery, less invasive and with a new melting sutures to the skull technique. NO metal plates and screws. Little Axl will spend only 2 days in the hospital and the family will remain in Texas for 2 weeks for follow up visits.
Now if it was your child, what would you do?

On behalf of the Deacon family who'd like to personally thank EVERYONE for their participation and help.

I'd like to thank all the stations who came out. KHNL, The Star Bulletin, Lisa Kubota from KGMB ( Whom I had the pleasure of working with at KHNL ) and Shane from KITV. Also like to thank Ed Kemper as he and his cameraman came out to get some footage for Island Driver TV.

A lot of people showed up from every club and even those who were independent.

Because of the coverage many more donations came in and Becky who called KITV because her son had the surgery years ago and she knows what the Deacon's are going through.

The WINNER of the Chopper giveaway "DARREN Cachola" put the bike up for auction and all proceeds will go back to the Deacon family. BIG Heart Darren.

Thanks to Jeanette from Paradise Lua for coming through on the porta potties and please get the family the donation you pledged.

Thanks to Aunty Evelyn from SORT for making a donation and getting her school involved as well.

To all you guys like Fred, I never saw you guys there but if you did show up, mahalo, but to keep your promise of making a pledge.

You can still go to ANY Bank of Hawaii and First Hawaiian Bank to make a donation to
"Axl James Deacon".

Mahalo to all who participated from the Jr. Dragsters, 4 Wheelin clubs, VW club, the bike shops, import scene, Harley Clubs and Sport Bikers. Sorry if we left anyone out.

This whole thing isn't just about racing but being responsible to our extended ohana in the motorsports community.
PunishUM has "ALWAYS" been involved with these type of community activities.

I challenge all of you out there to do the same.

That is great I wish we met up. We would have liked to have that for PunishUM as we will get Aunty Evelyn donating SORT, the non-profit to the Deacon's later this week. It makes great television when we lead by example to the rest of the motorsports community.

Pictured is the Deacon's next to the chopper they gave away that the winner is going to auction it off and give the proceeds back to the family.

There is also a shot of Axl and mother Moana.

There is also a shot of the rock climbing demonstration.

And there is a shot of the raffle for the winner of the chopper. AS you can see PunishUM is there to record the moment.

We got there at 11:30 to coordinate with the family to accommodate the media's request as they were busy with the event. Axl's dad Chase was at the entrance while Moana and Toy were busy by at the giveaway booth and and Deacon was well, all over the place. We stayed til the giveaway which was a little after 5 pm. The group "Big Dog" was playing and they were pretty good. A lot of Southern classic rock.

Again thanks for helping Jeanette you support really helped the family.

I'd have to think Tracy doesn't recognize me.

I was standing about 10' in front of you inside the warehouse, with the red white and black alpine stars jacket, next to the lunch wagon.

- good chili dogs outside though.

I went, brought my friends and we all made donations - the presale count was 2000 tickets at $20 each according to Deacon himself. This didn't count the guys like us who paid at the gate or the other money collected for the food, T shirts or outright donations.

The Harley guys seemed to like my new KTM - lots of aloha from everyone, cool cars and bikes to look at and lots of good people to hang with. The lead singer reminded me of Iggy Pop - whoa!

Right on Fred.

Honestly you could have been right in front of me and I would not have known.

I only know your name from your posts.

Glad you made it out. It really was a GREAT event for a GREAT cause.

They also sold a lot of refreshments as well :D :D

Yeah, he did look like Iggy Pop now that you mentioned it. They played a good rendition of Led Zep.
