Meanwhile, another candidate has filed to run against Mayor Hannemann to try to derail transit.
Mechanic George Nitta submitted his papers Wednesday.
Nitta is against spending billions of dollars on the rail project.
The 65-year auto mechanic and radio talk show host has never been elected to a public office.
He did make an unsuccessful attempt for governor in 1994.
