That facility was small. But the food was good. ;)

You have many multi purpose facilities all over this country that has less acreage than HRP like Rocky Mountain Raceway in Utah. It all has to do with the management team and there ability to lead.

RMR has a large oval and a drag strip. Got one that also has a road course? How about a place for drifing?

How many tracks have you actually been to on the mainland? Let me rephrase that, how many real tracks have you actually run on during real sanctioned events of any type?
I was there with the sunsetting @ RMR when they had a MC road racing club testing there. And lets see how many ovals does drifting occur on?
1 ) Irwindale ( Where D-1 and FD both go to. Both the BIGGEST events on their schedules. )
2 ) Wall Township Speedway in Jersey ( FD )
3 ) Altamont
4 ) California Speedway ( Dunlop )
And who knows the countless others that we don't know about local clubs all over?
Chad, why you always gotta go negative all the time? What do you do, wake up everyday and make a concious effort to be an asshole?
Get the facts first before you keep sticking your foot in your mouth? You like the taste of athletes tongue?
And RMR is on less than 50 acres.

And we haven't even mentioned their HUGE parking lot.
Hey, and doesn't RMR resemble a track that you all call ANTIQUATED? HRP ! !

1st off, you ASSumed I was being negative. I just asked a question! Here's another...
Ok, so you use the PAVED oval for drifting and set it up for road racing... I understand that... but then where to the DIRT racers go? Don't forget them! If you use that parking lot for anything besides PARKING you won't be able to run more than 1 event because no one will have a place to PARK.
Can it be done? Sure! Is it better than what we have to race on now? Of course! Can it accomodate the demand for motorsports we have here on Oahu? Not really, no. Is that really the kind of limited use facility you want for our future?

Management is very important, not many people have the ability to lead. Its really hard to find good help. :D

"IF" a miracle happens and "IF" a WCF is built in my lifetime, Hawaii will have the smallest population of any WCF facility in the WORLD NASCAR, IRL, NHRA, AMA stats all show that the majority of spectators must come from the host state and the visitors come within a 3 state radius. The last time I looked the nearest state was some 2500 miles away and a big thing called the Pacific Ocean seperated us. It will be the most expensive commute for out of staters. Again all of these organizers will show you is the out of state people "DRIVE" to the events. Look at the Super Prix. They barely sold a little over 2000 tickets. Without the right team in place even the best built WCF will wither away. Look at the finest speedway ever built by movie stars and other who had money . . Ontario Speedway. Where is it today? Mothballed . . And that is in California where the smallest counties have more than all of Hawaii combined.
There will be 2 tracks. And I am not talking WCF in this equation either. SORT will have a dirt track operating before the end of the year. There will be 2 dirt bike tracks on Oahu. Kahuku will see a "MAJOR" drop off in their numbers once the Sand Island deal gets up and running. And as for HRP . . ? ? Because that one is still on the table. Unlike in the past I believe it is best not to say anything until it is a done deal.
But as you can see Chad, there is a whole bunch of things going on and none of it has anything to do with P9 or its supporters.

HRP had all the different venues. And it wasn't as "overbooked" as "some people" claimed it was. There were empty dates, and races cancelled do to lack of participation.
Generally speaking, what people "want" usually has a lot less to do with what happens than what people can "afford". Although HRP has increased in value from 5 to 13 million. The Feedlot and P9 have increased as well. 46 million for the Feedlot and 48 million for P9.
Given that the State refused to even fund the cost of studying the cost, that does not bode well for the racers wanting a WCF. And before you claim that the "temp site" funding killed the Bill, we were there in all the CC meetings until time ran out at midnight. The "temp site" funding provision could have been taken out, and it still wouldn't have passed (according to members on the CC and finance committees).
