During the meeting, it was noted that some of the things stated by OMAC, at our previous meeting and some of what SORT stated, were in direct opposition. Rick Davis from SBU ask SORT if they would meet with SBU and OMAC at a combined meeting, to try and straighten this out. SORT agreed, but the time and place is not yet set. That should be an interesting meeting!

SORT has always met with everybody. Jr. even wanted to sponsor BTT this weekend but the OMAC leaders just flat out ignored him.

SORT and OMAC are so different in quality of leaders but the main reason is Philosophies.

So good luck trying to get anything out of that meeting other than HMDA feeling like they brought both sides together.

Nothing fruitful will be gained other than a show. Like trying to get cats and dogs to a unilateral treaty. Good Grief ! !

SORT has the big MO right now and I ain't talking bout the Jokester:rolleyes: either. MOmentum :D

Well you may or may not no that SBU (Street Bikers United) is a large (over 1,000 member) organization, that is politically active and has been successful with their lobbying efforts.

I don't believe the meeting is designed to unite OMAC and SORT, but rather to get to the truth of the matter concerning the closing of Hawaii Raceway Park. They have been given conflicting information. (havn't we all)

SBU, with all it's members, could become a powerful ally in SORT's efforts to reopen HRP. Many of SBU's members have been involved in racing at HRP, and they also consider the closing of the track to be causing a public safety problem. And of course, this is a critical time with the issue before the City Council.

The fundamental problem with uniting OMAC and SORT is that there are 2 conflicting goals. SORT was formed to preserve HRP. OMAC (which was formed to support the former HRP management) wants the track developed into a business park for personal profit. SORT's efforts to save HRP would prevent that from happening.

Hey, I know Ricky Davis from SBU. He's been a friend of mine for close to 30 years. He was the first person to call me when I ran for office last year. Good person to talk too. :)

Hey, you know everybody. :D

Perhaps you should give your friend a call and let him know what's been going on? Sounds like they're interested in getting involved with this critical issue.
