There was a report in PBN that "suggests" A&B purchased the HRP property. A&B says this is not true. Shoddy journalism seems to be the rule in Hawaii. We like to promote facts on this site, so we took it down.

Unfortunately at this point, a racetrack on Oahu probably is wishful thinking.

Well Kiddies, the infamous "FEEDLOT" is on the market.

Hope you saved up your pennies and Davy, cash in your cheap beer bottles.

Don't forget to save some to build the track, EPA and EIS as well as the necessary county and state permits.

Good Luck, cause you are gonna need it by the FREIGHT TRAIN loads.

See Davy, again you as ALWAYS is WRONG.

The FEEDLOT was supposed to go to OHA for the land settlement on the issue over ceded lands. The bill before the legislature received scrutiny from the Hawaiian community. Main concern was NO PUBLIC INPUT to the process. So the bill was allowed to die.

Another FACT is DLNR has budget problems like every state entity.

DLNR has a lot of LAND but it is ALL forestry on mountain sides. DLNR has very FEW Gems that HAS VALUE and can generate INCOME for them. The FEEDLOT is one of them.

The FEEDLOT LEASE is going to go in the MILLIONs Davy.

And MILLIONs MORE to satisfy all what I mentioned. You guys have a problem understanding the PERMITs and the FEEDLOT has even Federal EPA problems.

Also GOOD LUCK trying to get Flood Insurance as the 100 year flood/swail zone and all the Billions of gallons of water from a flood will all converge RIGHT THERE. Have YOU ever seen what water can do to asphalt and buildings? Especially when there is enough WATER and it will get UNDER all of that. Do your due diligence.

That way idiots like "ALL" you guys can stop bugging our elected officials to just GIVE  you guys the FEEDLOT.

The smart thing to do is check into this stuff before you go blabbing it on the net or at some lunch meeting. Racing is not part of A&B's business model, and the only reason they named the company "Kapolei Raceway, LLC" was to identify the project. Sort of like "HMC Irongate Hawaii Raceway Investors". I know this because I asked A&B directly. Just like I asked the P9 landlord and tenant about the "World Class Facility" that was supposedly being planned for that site (they said it was bullshit). Unfortunately, there's not too many smart racers in Hawaii (which is why we no longer have a track).

Yeah, it looks like A&B will get the property for $11 million. Which is a steal for 67 acres of I2 land. I doubt they plan to build a track there. But if anyone wants to convince them (plead, beg, threaten, etc.) to reopen the track, now is the time to do it!

Interestingly, this amount is only enough to cover the first loan. Which means the secondary lender (MKA Capital) just lost $17 million on the deal.

In the City Council hearings when we tried to get the City to buy the track, Gary Okino was trying to say the property was worth $70 million. Someone should email the story to that asshole.

They can afford a $20 million dollar soccer park, and a $50 million dollar CORP, that don't generate a dime. And let's not forget the $5 billion dollar train that no one's going to ride. And I'd like to see how many of the 40+ golf courses there would be if they all had to be laid out on industrial land with private money!

But then again, the politicians have been hearing from a nut that wanted $50 million + 139 acres for free (just because he asked for it). And all the negative testimony against the most sensible effort to have the city & county buy the track. And a room full of idiots at a neighborhood board meeting (that know nothing about racing), claiming that Parcel 24 was going to take care of all the racers. So how many racers has Parcel 24 taken care of? Where's that new track at Parcel 9?

Yeah, you were watching the live feed. You and everyone else should have been there supporting the effort, instead of being against it. Your buddies should be happy now that the track is gone.

iirc, it was $50 Million, estimated by Gary... i was watching the live feed.

pay attention to these events that passed. the message to the racer is.... "we can't give it to you but you can buy it if you are able"

P9, HRP, Feedlot....

Pay Attention ? ? You know what Davy BOI, shut your mouth. You were part of the problem why there is "NO" track. Along with every other Ass Munch like Sink BOI etc.

The message to the racer is UP YOURS! lol

And a room full of idiots at a neighborhood board meeting (that know nothing about racing), claiming that Parcel 24 was going to take care of all the racers. ahhhh.... you know how it is around here. i still don't think the state woulda saved HRP even if everyone was united to save it. the people behind P9 and P24 made sure it didn't happen...

You forgot about the testimony you sent in? Let me refresh your memory. You are Udrivecrap@aol.com and your name is David Bautista, correct?

You, Davy Boi wrote,"I am opposed to condemnation . . . I do not wish to see the State of Hawaii step in at a time where there MIGHT be a PRIVATE effort."

and I like this part best,"following a development plan of the Kapolei area by allowing the land owners to re-zone their land and supply needed industrial space where the old Hawaii Raceway Park is located."

There was and "IS" a glut of warehouse space already there. More abundant then brain dead racers like yourself.

Yeah, you are avail under the First Amendment your right to Free Speech but be a MAN and own up when,
YES your "NEGATIVE TESTIMONY" contributed to the closure of HRP.

You said it, now OWN up to it. At least you weren't bragging like some other Chuckle Head Sink Boi that he was there at the auction and still he was confused.

Actually the "ONLY" correct thing you said in your testimony is,"which is quite confusing for us all."

At least you spoke up for yourself and FINALLY got that right brother . . .

What's a matter? You guys scared to respond to a political stance? Why, are you afraid of PISSING of corrupt politicians who already Screwed our motorsports community and would NEVER help us anyway?

As Iceman told Mav,"Get in the fight Mav, YOU Won't survive out there ALONE."

i can't speak for everyone else but i'm not afraid of pissing off a politician, they are the ones that are carefull not to bite the hand that feeds them. i believe most go for office with good intentions, once they get in its a different story and a learning experience.

the only political names that first come to mind regarding screwing up the racing community on Oahu is Chang and Hanabusa. Chang didn't disclose pertinent information about the land swap for P9 and Hanabusa backed P24... to nowhere apparently.

the other name is Flannigan (sp?)... she is after the noise problem at the stadium. SCCA has been working hard to address the problem. good news is events are scheduled for the 2010 season.

supporters are Apo, Deju, Gabbard, Har, Aiona....

You got that right. Colleen had many chances. Befriended the racers, promised them the moon to get reelected for the Senate and her many failed attempts to step up and killed HB 567 when it made it all the way to conference committee.

Deju supported the Upzoning and voted against Condemnation. HE also said publicly that a racetrack is NOT the governments responsibility. But tax gobbling golf courses, soccer parks, bark parks ( I love dogs but am making a point. ) stadium, UH sports all deserve the support of public funding. Just not RACING. None of them respect any of our motorsports.

They ALL think ANY form of racing is DUMB and not worth it so thus I will just ignore you till you go away.

Apo always knew the other 8 council members would vote the other way so he could look good and say,"I tried to HELP you guys ( The Racers ) but my other colleagues didn't. Not much I could do there. SORRY." ;)

There is a Strong CLEANSING wind brewing. 2010 will be a year for MAJOR changes.

as for the state supporting a racetrack by way of use of public lands and/or funds..... land is so expensive here. gotta have a clear need, i think that's what mufi told us in an email way back. want to have vs need to have. some sh*t like that. which would explain why politicians who support a "want" would be hard to come by.

so if that's the problem then the solution would be to "unite" as was suggested to us many times.... but that's for sh*t.

which then would mean the state can turn the other way and let the disorganized group of radicals and hardazzes (who are also medicated) wait for a private developer who CAN and HAS the money to do it.

that's kinda where we are right now, yes? :D:confused:

Waiting for some "wealthy" developer to come to Oahu and build us a racetrack is akin to Charlie Brown waiting up all night for the "Great Pumpkin". It's NEVER going to happen. The land here is just too expensive.

Building a racetrack on Oahu is no easy task. This is what I was trying to get across to everyone when the track closing issue first came up. Everyone SHOULD HAVE banded together to save HRP then. Putting forth all those other bullshit options just allowed the politicians to let HRP go. Now it's too late. We've been without a track for 4 years. We're going to be without a track for another 4 years. There may NEVER be another track on Oahu. But hey, I'm sure your buddies are enjoying the $5 million they got from the sale.

The state could spend $50 million on 22 acres for Kukui Gardens low income housing. Low income also means they don't have much in the ability to contribute to the GDP of the state. And that turned into a deal that back fired as the new owner can now sell to whom ever they want. No more Low Income housing, used HUD money to acquire and the intent has vanished. By the way, the state did the deal through eminent domain. But NOT for HRP.

But RACERS who can afford to contribute more taxes from their hobby and actually have J-O-Bs that contribute to the GDP fall on deaf ears.

The government city and state will build ball parks that sit, golf courses that need tax dollars to operate, a soccer park that will never generate a dime, a stadium getting a $11 million dollar facelift with your and my tax dollars and pay the NFL $5 million to keep a game that nobody watches.

You know why? Cause the majority of those types who like to play games that we racers think are silly VOTE ! ! !

right, that's what you were trying to do.... still, without a clear "need" for a racetrack, how do you expect the state and city (who operates on public demand) to pay millions and commit to something and then have to try and justify it when people complain about our tax dollars being spent on things we don't obviously need? they won't do that unless the public demand is constantly pressing for it. which means, you can't give up.

There is NO proof or way to track exactly How MUCH money or in my opinion NO money is being spent during the Pro Bowl, SONY Open or any event period.

The state uses these kaka formula of graphs, grids and sleight of hand numbers to justify spending our tax dollars. Funny though, cause when Jokeland used the same BOGUS formulas for his tax credit, I mean Tax SCAM in saying how many tourists his P9 deal would generate these same people from DBEDT said," There is NO WAY for them to verify his ( Jokey Futs ) claims."

Like the projection for the convention center. How short did that fall?

Since when has ANY government run project ever come in on time much less on BUDGET? Nimitz Viaduct, H-3, Aloha Stadium ( They got ripped off on the steel and we are still paying to fix that mess today. ), etc., etc., etc.

Honolulu will be "THE" smallest city in the ENTIRE Galaxy with an elevated fixed rail system. $1.5 billion from the Feds and where is the other $3.5 going to come from? The GET tax is falling short, the lege wants to repeal that revenue stream to help the state, AND we all know it will be closer to $9 to $11 'BILLION' if ever completed and any wagers NOT in our lifetime.

Millions of Tax dollars to self promote and convince everyone this is a good deal, $400+ million dollar NON-Bid contracts, and on and on and on.

Shanghai built a 20 mile Maglev system for $1.5 Billion, which is faster than the Shinkansen. Steel on steel is to help out his buddies from the unions. 3 fund raisers all saying "Office Sought" GOVERNOR that raised over $1 Million. Cladwell ran ads. Can you see the writing?

The good thing is that this White Elephant will be such a Cluster Mess by the time the primary rolls around this year he'd be a FOOL to run for Gov. Either way it will be a mess and he won't be around after 2012 ANYWAY. NOT even to sweep the floors in Honolulu Hale much less running it. Kind of like "Where is Harris today?" Worst than trying to locate Waldo.
